Dives on Elba: Corbelli Islets
Depth: 0-38 meters
Difficulty level: medium
Stream: sometimes quite strong in the depth
I Corbelli are a set of rocks that emerge from the water off the Golfo Stella and south-west of Gemini's islands.
The dive for beginners takes place around the rocks, especially the larger. In the first 20m of depth, in fact, there are large boulders that create dens and refuges for many fish such as groupers, moray eels, conger eels and croakers.
For the more experienced divers, the most interesting part is in the depth of the southern area where there are some scattered rocks laid on a sandy bottom that create interesting passages and provide a burrow for many fish.
But sometimes, depending on sea and wind conditions, it is possible to find a rather intense current.
Along the walls of the islet we find some of the main varieties of sponges and gorgonians and looking towards the open sea is easy to meet snapper and amberjack.
In the shallow part, around 10m deep there is a canyon whose walls are covered with beautiful Parazoanthus.
