Dives on Elba: Scoglio della Triglia
Depth: 0-20 meters
Difficulty level: easy
About 2 miles out from the bay of Marina di Campo, we find this rock that slopes down to the bottom for about 20mt.
The habitat that is created between the boulders of the bottom and the wall of the main rock, is the ideal for groupers, conger, moray eels, octopuses and other fish that live in dens.
The part of the rock that is less exposed to sunlight is covered by a dense colony Parazoanthus.
The side facing South has a vertical wall that slopes direct from the surface to the maximum depth and slightly detached from the main block we find other large boulders laid on a sandy bottom.
The north side is the less deep and has a second big block with the peak placed at 5m deep.
Feature of the Scoglio della Triglia, is the presence of a statue of the Madonna, resting on a sandy bottom at a depth of 18mt and often surrounded by a cloud of damselfish.
