Dives on Elba: Punta di Fetovaia
Depth: 12-50 meters
Difficulty level: easy/medium
Stream: some time outside from the point
Flying over a seabed of about 20 meters, characterized by white and yellow gorgonias (eunicella cavolini) and then crossing a Posidonia (posidonia oceanica) grassland about at 25 meters, there is a small jump that takes us to a depth of about 30 meters from where begins the interesting part of this dive site: an expanse of red gorgonias (eunicella cavolini) up to a depth of about 40 meters.
Going on with this depth we are facing to the entrance of a cave full of Parazoanthus, lobsters (palinurus elephas), sponges and hospitable place for Mustella (phycis phycis) and scorpion fish (scorpaena porcus), especially prone to allocate on a seabed of this type.
This dive site is very easy to catch sight of anything that is considered pelagic fish such as huntig dentex (dentex dentex), Barracuda (sphyraena sphyraena) and greater amberjack (seriola dumerili), that prefer this site as rich in oily fish.
Do not underestimate, also, that part of the shoal, which is particularly popular with grouper (epinephelus guaza) and clouds of ray's bream(chromis chromis), which can offer to less experienced divers a fascinating memories of this place.
