Scoglio della Triglia on Elba Island
At about 2 miles outside the bay of Marina di Campo, we find this rock that slopes down to the bottom for about twenty meters.
The habitat that is between the boulders of the seabed and the wall of the rock, is the ideal one for grouper (epinephelus guaza),conger eel (conger conger), moray eel (muraena helena) octopus (octopus vulgaris), and all that is considered burrow fish.
The part of the rock that is not exposed to sunlight is covered with a dense colony of Parazoanthus.
Close to the rock, beautiful and charming to visit, we find a statue of the Madonna often surrounded by a cloud of ray's bream(chromis chromis) and coris julis.
