Shallow of Corbella on Elba Island
In front of Capo Stella and close to the islet Corbella this dive site offers two different types of diving:
- The southern part of the rock is more demanding, but full of life with the possibility of sighting, dentex (dentex dentex) greater amberjack (seriola dumerili), sea-eagle, white bream (diplodus annularis), saddled bream (oblada melanura), ray's bream (chromis chromis), and an expanse of red gorgonias (eunicella cavoilini) that will leave you fascinated.
- The northern side is fairly easy and give the possibility, thanks to the remarkable biological diversity, to see moray eel (muraena helena), octopus (octopus vulgaris), grouper (epinephelus guaza), and other fishes (sciaena umbra, phycis phycis) that beat very often this site.
In a depth of approximately 20/22 meters there is a statue of a bear that shows the divers the exactly distance between Elba island and the city of Berlin.
Only in this site, we can see the famous "Killer Algae" (Caulerpa taxifolia) which is usually located in the Atlantic Ocean, but that proliferates also here.
